You are just wonderful with your fondness and pampering

How can my heart miss thanking God for his abundant blessings?
How can my window miss the fresh air she brings in?
How can my bed miss the romantic morning we make?
How can my coffee cup miss the extra care I give her?
How can my mobile miss the simple chat on WhatsApp?
How can my kitchen miss the tastiest food I make?
How can my TV miss the new album on VH1?
How can my lips miss the warm kiss from my honey?
How can my hands miss taking care of the little tendrils in the balcony?
How can my ears miss the army aircrafts buzzing around in the sky?
How can my eyes take away her sight on the crazy cats under castor plants?
How can my fingers miss typing something sensual?
How can my taste buds miss the seductive taste of dark chocolate?
How can my hairs miss the warm oil massage?
How can my To Do list miss shopping plans?
How can my arms miss the sweet hug from my brother?
How can my puzzled brain miss reading NYT, EPW, Mint Lounge, Slate, WOP......?
How can I miss thanking you ... for being a holiday and giving me my time?

LIFE .THEN.NOW

Life is a sum of choices, which I make every day
It seems that I chose your smile and your love
You are protective in every single corner
From your spotless heart
And that is the happy story
Of our relationship, from the very start
I love you

Life is a sum of choices, which I make every day
It seems that you chose to be away and hide
You are tricky in every single corner
From your jumbled heart
And that is the dragging story
Of our long distance relationship, still
I miss you

Life is a sum of choices, which I make every day
It seems that I chose your cheating and lies
You plundered in every single corner
From your deceptive heart
And that is the sad story
Of our relationship, from now on
 I hate you

Mini Norman on Farm in Incredible India

Norman neighed Namaste to incredible India! Covering an area of 3,287,590 sq. km extending from the snow-covered Himalayan heights to the tropical rain forests of the south, India has one of the oldest civilizations in the world with a kaleidoscopic variety and rich cultural heritage.  He is excited to know the different aspects of her personality – exotic, extravagant, elegant, eclectic to each one who visits.

Alltech team shared with Norman that history of horse in Indian Subcontinent dates to the early Swat culture (around 1600 BC) and to Indo-Aryan migration to India. The horses are part of country’s history from Vedic period to Moguls to colonial rule and present modern India. Two of the famous horses which are written in history are Kanthaka the horse on which Buddha rode when he departed from his palace before enlightenment and the famous Marwari Horse Chetak of Rana Pratap.

In Bangalore office, the team explained him that India is the world's largest producer of many fresh fruits and vegetables, milk, major spices, select fresh meats, jute, millets and castor seeds.  Second largest producer of wheat, rice, tea, fisheries etc, Norman wondered knowing that India ranks within the world's five largest producers of over 80% of agricultural produce items and one of the world's five largest producers of livestock and poultry meat, with one of the fastest growth rates.

Now Norman decided to travel the road less travelled to rural India, to escape into a new unique world which is real and natural, full of life , fields, bright colours , aromatic mud fragrance in the country side unique in every sense of the world.

He began his On-farm journey in food sovereign country up in the north in fetch of saffron the wonder spice grown in valleys of Kashmir and took road to Punjab dairy farms where he had a cooling Lassi to cool his soul and took the suggestion of farmers and visited aromatic basmati fields and famous Shimla apple orchards.  He was happy to see long sugarcane crop grown in Indo gangetic plains which are known to have the most fertile soil. He travelled on train to visit wheat fields in Sehora, Soybeans in Indore , Jute in delta region of Bengal and he sipped the famous Darjeeling tea. After the amazing trip he took a break to take part in the inauguration of  the new Kolkata office.

Norman on the way to Soyabean fields in Indore, India

In the second league he travelled to cotton fields in Saurastra, red hot chilli fields in Guntur, shrimp farmers in Godavari delta, Coffee plantations in Coorg and poultry farms in Nammakal.  He was amazed by the folk songs sung by women in paddy fields of Tamil Nadu and lastly went to coconuts orchards in Malabar coast, Pepper plantations in Wayand  and Cardamom plantations at Idduki made him to fall in love with agriculture in India.

By the end of his journey he made trusted friends  “Farmers” across India and thanked Alltech India team for the extraordinary journey he had and for the food full of infusing dishes with rich flavour.

Monsoon , Mud and Me

As wind kisses my cheek on this dark cloudy night ... alone is me staring through the window and finding nothing. This is the first week of June and as I write through this.. I hear distant sound of thunderstorms , which are always scary be it for me or for the 5 member cat family and black street dog who wander in my street.

The hot Indian summers are especially humid and they suck all the water from your body and land. The land becomes hard and cracks .... the cracks show the way that they give space for water to enter through them as rains come. We have recorded  highest temperature in New Delhi , as the new governments forms in the subcontinent after the hot poll scenario.

Every year at this point of time every Indian farmer, markets and common person like me who loves to get wet have their own story to tell , why we eagerly wait for the showers that monsoon brings. In our subcontinent we have two major monsoons the South west monsoon  and North East monsoon; SW monsoon  brings good rainfall to most parts of the country and is a crucial component for agriculture , power generation (hydel) , flora and fauna. Yes now is the season for South west monsoon often called by markets as “real finance minister of India “ as rains effect the overall economy – Arun Jaitley "Listening" !
30% of manufacturing sector is agriculture based and more than 60%  net sown area is rainfed.

The above photograph is taken near Tiruvananthapuram  and it was in the same place I was there in 2007 during my college South India tour and the first showers of monsoon on me ... the moments are still fresh in my heart  and that was the moment when I embraced nature's healing moments . These are the showers of blessing to a thirsty soul like me and the dried up land by the hot Indian summer. Few moments are breathtaking and this is one in my life. SW Monsoon first touches Kerala state in India  around 1st June , this year it is delayed for few days and it spreads across the country by july end and withdraws by September.

Besides the above as I pen down, the wind increases its speed in this busy cry of cities , thundershowers light up the night and  all signs point to the advent of monsoon ... its mid night  and celebrations in my heart. As the first drops of rain touch the soil, they bring the promise of better life and of course to decrease the load shedding J

This reminds me the “ Power of smell “ it is one of the important senses gifted by God to mankind, it is plays a vital role in elevating the mood. Consequently, perfumes are a big business, and the most popular of them command serious money.  Scientists across the world spend years crafting pleasing odor combinations.  And for many the most exotic and exclusive scents can be Clive Christian No. 1 Imperial Majesty Perfume or even Chanel No.5 . There is someone else who can beat them its Petrichor "  the scent of rain on dry earth - In my words the mud smell after rain ... it is amazing scent that trails through the soil bed and the raising scent captures your olfactory notes., its mystical and magical.... Have a hot pakoda and masale tea sit in balcony with your loved one and to add the icing on the cake “ the mud smell is aromatic and makes it a romantic time.  So this is one scent which can’t be captured in a bottle and sold .. its freely available in nature for you and me to enjoy.

Leave about the El Nino effect  as not all the El Nino years did not result in drought ....
The rains  have arrived .... monsoon has filled my heart  and the scent of mud drenched by the showers filled my nostrils, it’s time to pull out your raincoats ,  umbrella's and gear up to jump in the water when no one else is seeing..... enjoy the rains they are there to help us as always !

Smile is a curve that sets things straight..... I realized its You...

Smile is a curve that sets things straight..... I realized its You...        Here it’s for you ......

The day I met you for the first time
and the memories lasted into a life time
All I’ve gotta do is smile
and everything is suddenly alright

The day I walked with you in our street
and the past lasted into the galaxy
All I’ve gotta do is smile
and everything is suddenly alright

When I feel the weight of the world
upon my shoulders and let things get under my skin
All I’ve gotta do is smile
and I’m ready to try once again, as you shared

When I am confused Or if I’m feeling pretty low
and everything looks gloomy
All I’ve gotta do is smile
and I know you are there for me

When I long to share things with you
and find it difficult to believe in me the excitement
All I’ve is a blushing smile
and I know you lend an ear for me

Your smile does so many things
it brightens up my day
Your smile is like a promise
that things will be good

When you are away from me
Nothing I can do but call you and imagine your smile ,
All I’ve gotta do is smile
With the treasurers of you in my heart

Your smile is all I really need
to ease many things
Your smile lightens my heart
and it’s something I never want to be without

On Side of “Twilight”

Over the years, of learning the ABC’s of politics from the age of 5 . My memory down the lane takes me back to the mourning days of Rajiv’s assassination in the hot humid may summer days of 1991 on Doordarshan. And later thin memories of Iran Iraq gulf war , the conversations of mom & dad on the fuel prices. My childhood more or less started with listening to All India Radio and Doordarshan English news with my parents. As time passed, learnt about Mr.P.V.Narashimha Rao for reviving the economic situation of our country. When I turn back and see a  person who won with highest majority in the history of general elections that time, the jewel and pride of Andhra Pradesh  was ill treated during his last years with scams, I still don’t know , whether the allegations were proved.

The other two great leaders whom I remember are Madhavrao Scindia and Rajesh Pilot , who lost their lives in peak of their political careers.  I was more pulled towards the national politics may be the main influence was NDTV and I hardly admired very few in AP state assembly. Growing up watching Prannoy Roy , Bharkha  and Rajdeep was amazing and other side Nikhil Chinnappa on Mtv moulded a new young girl of 21st century. Thanks to the wonderful school at St. Ann’s which gave a great  peer group , where we had discussion on national topics. One of the elections I remember was between Sonia and Sushma in Bellary. I was moderate among my friends not disclosing my political views and the ideologies that are growing up in me.  Whereas my friends were vocal and they brought in the views from the family dinners as well. As I pen down here the discussion, I should not forget the 1st time I have entered a polling booth walking with my grandfather as 5 year old kid and the words he told me , vote for the national party who got us freedom (hope you got ). Now in this age , is there anyone - still so loyal who look into the legacy of past and forget the present & future before casting the vote.  Before the final exams of 9th standard our former principal Sister Rachel had come for our school visit.  She was our favourite for her simplicity and punctuality.  She asked us what you want to become , I was the only one in my whole batch standing and telling “Journalist” (Still that passion is there inside me and makes me to focus on PR side) this journalism was over shadowed by the Wheat Rust disease lines in Geography from ICSE Part 1 making me to choose the path of agricultural university.

Later after school, I lost the best buddies who were the best critics on politics , movies and of course external affairs. As days passed , great leaders emerged who shaped new India. Only thing that disturbed me was politics of religion. One person at home who shaped up my ideologies was my dad. Few of the qualities I inherited are storing the speeches of political leaders literally in my heart. Be it great speeches of Mr. Vajpayee, Mr. Naidu talking ill of agriculture, P. Janardhan Reddy as opposition leader in AP state assembly, the Pada yatra by Dr.YSR in hot  summer of Andhra Pradesh through length & breath of the state.

One marvelous habit which I admired & thanked my dad was he collected the newspaper and magazine cuttings right from his secondary school till my early school. Those pictorial albums gave me great respect to Democratic India.  So before the option of search on internet gave me the best pictures of 1970’s & 80’s politics and sport. In school I knew internet as Yahoo and it was a synonym of chatting. It is hilarious, but it is the truth I got to admit.

Meanwhile the collation governments formed and dismantled at the center, the trips of Ms.Jaya Lalitha with huge luggage always got the attention of media and even me.  The scientist look of Mr. I .K.Gujaral , Sleeping prime minister Devegowda could not find stand the fire of 3rd front unity. Mr.Chandra Babu’s stand and on the power price increase and how his govt responded on revolters.

By the time I reached my eleventh and twelfth ,  I was bitten by Sachin Pilot  bug , it would be big joke if I tell any of my friends that I admire a politician , where the later looked at film stars and sports personalities. After many years came to know, he was married in the year 2004 itself. But a smile always appears on my lips whenever I see him on my television screen.

The time I entered my agricultural college in 2004  have seen Vajpayee losing the election being a former prime minister  and Manmohan Singh looses in Assam and becomes prime minister this talks of the uncertainty that Indian Politics can offers. By the mid of 17 years I came to know about my caste, religion thanks to the reservations. The admission to the university teaches you all in India. The day you entered college you are met with your caste  and religion groups. With my religion and caste combination, there was no one in the university. Coming from converted family of higher Hindu caste to Christian as a teenager, there were many a times, I was in dilemma that did a great battle in my heart. Till today, I still don’t know the caste of my best friend and I did not dare to ask.

2004 beginning of my college and confessions saw few of the best political turn around in center & state. Sonia turning out the prime ministerial post , now I just feel that , she had great political acumen and many must have realised it now. The expelling of Sharad Pawar from INC and Dr.YSR forming the govt at Hyderabad were remarkable memories I have. Other side by that time , I read a lot about our prime minister Manmohan Singh an eminent economist , the most learnt politician ever in the world , who was instrumental in bringing out India from the economic crisis in early 1990’s. Watching Somanth Chaterjee and Sitaram Yechury interviews or speeches, they never attracted me for their ideologies but their fluency in English was the best among the politicians. Sometime I feel communists are the most learnt so they have become socialist.

After 10 years, now Dr. Manmohan Singh no more contests in general election, Sharad Pawar moves to  upper elderly house, may be Advani’s last election but has to work under his student, Sonia passed on the power to her son , the loyal congress man Pranab Mukerjee  made president , Dr.YSR is no more and 5 years of his death lead to the chaotic years of the state and ultimately resulted in bifurcation of the state, Akhilesh seeing a mirage of his father Mulayam Singh becoming PM and the sibling war between Alagiri and Stalin of already cremated DMK.

With 1 billion plus unique identies and trillion plus Ideologies ....... marks the end of an era. For May 2014, many gourmet chefs are coming for battle for 1st time and for many it would be the last one, who would be remembered by my generation - on side of “Twilight”.
